Best Air Purifier for FFF 3D Printer & Laser Engraver
Worried about laser or 3D printing fumes? Protect your health with the xTool SafetyPro™ AP2, the ultimate air purifier for a cleaner, safer workspace.

Why You Need a Pro Air Purifier
Air Pollution from 3D Printing & Laser Engraving
Laser engraving and cutting use high-powered lasers to etch or cut patterns and text onto materials like wood, acrylic, metal, and leather. During this process, materials can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs), particulate matter (PM), and even toxic fumes, depending on the material. Without proper ventilation or filtration, these harmful particles can linger in the workspace, potentially reaching the lungs and causing respiratory and cardiovascular issues.
The FFF 3D printing process uses thermoplastic filaments that are extruded through a high-temperature nozzle at around 200 °C. This partially melts the filaments to form a 3D shape, one layer at a time. The 3D printing process releases particles—mostly ultrafine (<100 nm in diameter)—and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the melting thermoplastic filaments. Ultrafine particles are released at rates of billions per thermoplastic filaments. Ultrafine particles are released at rates of billions per minute during operation.
Different 3D printing materials release various harmful substances. While PLA is often considered eco-friendly, the rise of specialty filaments like metal, silk, and wood PLA has introduced new risks. These materials often contain additives such as metal powders, dyes, and wood fibers, which can increase odors and release additional harmful compounds.

Traditional Solutions Just Don't Cut It

Opening Windows for Ventilation
On cold or rainy days, opening windows just isn't an option, and that leaves pollutants trapped in the air indoors.

Wearing a Mask
While masks may offer protection against particles, they cannot filter out VOCs or enhance the air quality in the entire environment.

Using Regular Air Purifiers
Quickly clogs with heavy smoke, leading to frequent and expensive replacements. Carbon filters saturate easily, weakening their ability to effectively remove VOCs.
What Makes xTool SafetyPro™ AP2 Stand Out
99.99% PM2.5 Filtration: Protect Your Lungs
Most air purifiers rely on just a pre-filter and HEPA filter. The xTool SafetyPro™ AP2 takes it further with a four-layer system: Supercyclone, pre-filter, medium-efficiency, and HEPA filters, ensuring top-notch particle filtration.

99.99% VOC Removal: Breathe Fresh, Odor-Free Air
Single carbon layer? Not enough. The xTool SafetyPro™ AP2's ultra-dense carbon mesh (400x finer than regular carbon) ensures superior odor control, keeping your workspace fresh, even when cutting acrylic or 3D printing with ABS, silk, or metal PLA.
99.97% UFP Filtration: Block the Nano-Sized Threats
The HEPA filter, as the final stage in our purifier's 6-layer filtration system, effectively removes 99.97% of 0.3µm dust particles, providing you with ultra-pure air that helps reduce respiratory risks and improve overall indoor air quality.

SGS Certified: Proven Quality You Can Trust
The first laser & 3D printing purifier to pass five SGS tests, including PM2.5, 0.3μm dust, odor, toluene, and TVOC removal, setting a new standard for air quality in laser processing and FFF 3D printing.

SuperCyclone Filter: Extends Pre-filter Life by 10x
36 small cyclone groups operate in parallel, generating powerful centrifugal force to efficiently separate dust and dirt, preventing filter clogging and extending their lifespan up to 10 times longer than filters without a cyclone.
*The results estimate the filtration of residue from the regular laser cutting of 3mm acrylic and basswood.

Frequently Asked Questions
The AP2 is designed for machines with a smoke extraction capacity of 150 cubic meters per hour or lower. If your machine falls within this range, it should work with the AP2. However, you will need to prepare the adapter for the exhaust port yourself.
The product supports a 3-inch exhaust pipe. It's compatible with laser machines, hybrid 3D printers with laser modules, and FFF 3D printers, as long as their exhaust pipe matches this size.
Yes, Manual mode is compatible with all our lasers: P2S, P2, S1, M1 Ultra, F1 Ultra, D1, D1 Pro, M1, and F1. And auto-mode is only compatible with P2S, S1, M1 Ultra, and F1 Ultra.
The lifespan of each filter layer in the AP2:
- Pre-filter: 100 hours
- Medium Efficiency Filter: 200 hours
- Activated Carbon Filter: 600 hours
